School horses are the backbone of any great riding program, and OEV is especially proud of it's collection of horses and ponies. These schoolies are the foundation for the majority of OEV's skills! This holiday season we wanted to highlight them in thanks!
First, let's highlight the face of OEV's lesson program. Joplin.
Joplin says that age is just a number, and while he's now done showing the other Children's Hunters who is boss - he is devoted to teaching all the new OEV riders the basics. This sweet little horse has auto changes, the patience of a saint, and skills that will get you noticed in the show ring. He works a 4 day work week, and takes his bonuses in the form of neck scratches and horse cookies. Stop by and say hi anytime, he'll be bundled up in his favorite blankets this winter.

As the temperatures start dropping, please keep in mind OEV's blanketing preference for all horses.
Non-body clipped horses :
55-40 Degrees: Sheets
39-10 Degrees: Blankets
9 Degrees &Under (brrrrrrrr!): Both Sheet and Blanket
Body Clipped horses:
55-45 Degrees: Sheets
44-35 Degrees: Blankets
34 Degrees & Under: Both Sheet and Blanket
We all chip in to make sure everyone is warm and comfortable all season long, but please remember to check the weather before you leave and be sure your horse is outfitted correctly.

A huge thanks to everyone who came out to OEV this past weekend for the horse show! All of the OEV riders came home with a ribbon and rode beautifully. The show was also able to raise some wonderful donations for Angel Hearts Rescue, and had a blast doing it.
Next up is the American Royal, we'll see you there Oct. 13th-17th!
